Nick Price and his view of the golf course superintendent.

Nick Price was awarded the 2010 Old Tom Morris Award at this years' Golf Industry Show (GIS) in Orlando, FL. He is being interviewed here prior to accepting his award in front of the Show attendees. The GIS is comprised of Golf Courses Superintendent's, Golf Course Owners, Golf Course Architects, and various other industry professionals from around the world.

The Old Tom Morris Award is the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America's most prestigious honor. It is presented each year to an individual who "through a continuing lifetime commitment to the game of golf has helped to mold the welfare of the game in a manner and style exemplified by Old Tom Morris."

Morris (1821-1908) was greenkeeper and golf professional at the St. Andrews Links Trust Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland; a four-time winner of the British Open (1861, ’62, ’64 and ’67); and ranked as one of the top links designers of the 19th century.

Enjoy!

We played at Chalk Mountain on Tuesday, feb. 12..We were advised it was Holiday rates...Are you kidding me??? Cost us $69.00 for the two of us...We love chalk Mountain course, but feel we were totally ripped off..Don't you people have any common sense? We will be advising everyone about this...With the new awakening at Paso you can ill afford to make customers feel taken advantage of. We annually hold a huge Memorial Tournament at Chalk in honor of our son...We will be seriously thinking about changing the location..You really don't have that much to offer (cart shortage/condition,etc.)

    1. Ralph and Linda,
I am sorry that you feel as though you were ripped off as the County celebrated Lincoln's birthday on Feb. 12. This date was a County celbrated holiday and for that reason applicable Holiday rates were charged. Communication was obviously not adequate at the time of your booking to alert you to the fact that this date would be a Holiday and for that I appologize. We know that we are in a competitive market and strive to provide quality affordable golf recreation 365 days per year. Thank you for alerting me of your feelings so that we can take appropriate actions to ensure customer satisfaction in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact me with further concerns.
